My Journey

It all started with

A Journey Through Cybersecurity: My Story

From the moment I got my first computer as a curious teenager, I knew technology would shape my life. That bulky machine wasn’t just a tool—it was a gateway to exploration. I spent hours dissecting its inner workings, fascinated by the cryptic world of *regedit*. Tinkering with the Windows Registry felt like uncovering secrets, and each tweak taught me how systems operated beneath their user-friendly façades. It wasn’t long before my curiosity evolved into challenges: I “hacked” into friends’ email accounts (with their amused permission, of course), not out of malice but to solve puzzles and understand vulnerabilities. Those early experiments ignited a lifelong passion for cybersecurity—a field where creativity and logic collide.

From Clinic to Code: Building Solutions

My professional journey began in an unlikely place: a small health clinic where I worked as an IT administrator. Frustrated by the inefficiency of paper records, I spearheaded a transition to a digital database system. I taught myself MS Access and built custom tools to generate reports, turning scattered data into actionable insights. For the first time, management could track patient trends, allocate resources strategically, and make informed investment decisions. This experience taught me the transformative power of technology—and the importance of securing it.

 Merging Finance with Cyber Vigilance

When I moved to the UK, I took on a role in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) at a financial Organization. Here, I merged my IT expertise with compliance, introducing tools like **OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence)** and **Maltego** to automate investigations. By mapping transactional relationships and flagging anomalies, we slashed processing times and reduced human error. Yet, even as I streamlined financial workflows, my heart remained in cybersecurity. Nights and weekends were dedicated to certifications—CompTIA Security+, CEH, ISO 27001, NIST—and immersive labs on platforms like Hack The Box.

Deepening the Craft: Offensive Security & Beyond

The turning point came with an intensive stint at  Infosec4TC , where I immersed myself in hands-on projects: conducting penetration tests, Vulnerability Assessments responding to simulated breaches, and hardening networks. Collaborating with seasoned professionals, I gained exposure to  threat intelligence, and cloud security, in addition to the technical knowledge i gained experience in  compliance and how frameworks like ISO 27001 can shape the organization and build trust . This experience sharpened my cyber security skills, reinforcing my belief that cybersecurity is not just a job—it’s a mindset.

 Consulting at IBM Consult

Scaling Impact Today, as a cybersecurity consultant with IBM Consult, I collaborate with diverse stakeholders to tackle complex challenges. Whether designing secure architecture, advising on GDPR compliance, or mitigating ransomware threats, every project reminds me why this field matters. The stakes are high, but so is the reward: safeguarding the digital trust that underpins our world.

The Road Ahead My journey has been driven by insatiable curiosity and a commitment to growth. From regedit experiments to home and online labs , each step has deepened my resolve to stay ahead of threats—and to inspire others to embrace cybersecurity’s endless possibilities. The landscape evolves daily, but one truth remains: protecting our digital future isn’t just a career. It’s a calling. And I’m just getting started.

I spend daily 1-2 hours either watching lectures, labs, reading. I am very passionate about learning all apsects of cyber security, I know it will be impossible to learn everything, but learning  how different things work will help me build that strong and firm foundation, like building the foundation of the house is the hardest part as this done, you can build and expand and decorate as much as you can. I Love Cyber Security
